The line descends from Curtis Clifton Duck (b. abt. 1906) to his son Lamar Duck (b. abt. 1923), to his son, Melvin and to Christopher C. Duck. Curtis C. Duck had a brother named Ray. The 1920 Census has Curtis Duck (b. abt. 1906 in AL) and family living in Eagle Creek, Tallapoosa, Alabama. His family includes: Jessie Mae (wife, b. abt. 1909), and sons, Hurckel, (b. abt. 1927) and Lamar (b. abt. 1923). If you know more about this Duck branch, please let us know.   • John J. Duck Family(b. 7 Feb. 1829) came from Tennessee and Kentucky. John J.'s sons were Daniel B. "Bud" Duck and William Gaither Duck. Daniel's son was Jim Duck (age 76 in March 1966) from Newton Co., Arkansas and William Gaither's son was Walter. [This is information comes from correspondence from Jim Duck to my grandfather, Lester G. Duck in the mid 1960s. Dec. 2005: Contact with William Gaither Duck's descendants.   • William Holmes Duck, son of Robert W. and Mary R. Duck of Georgia: Rinda Loman (daughter of George Loman) married William Holmes Duck on October 15, 1899. (Ref: Baxter County Arkansas Marriage Book 'B', (1885 - 1900) at Page # 433. Marriage was performed by Elder H. Hayes and Witnessed by John Washington Loman, Jr. an older brother to the Bride and close friend of the Groom. William had 1 known brother, John H. ( or T.) and a sister Lady M. William and Rinda moved to Ponotoc County Oklahoma sometime around 1912. Rinda's younger sister Ada, according to family records, reportedly married a man by the last name of either Teter or Teeters. — Researcher is John Loman.
  • Roland Alan Whitfield Duck had a son listed in the 1870 census as Maning Duck. He was listed in the 1880 census as M. A. Duck born A 1855, married to a D. D. Duck born A1858. I can't find them in the 1890 or 1900 census, but in the 1910 census, Maning is listed as Manon A. Duck and D. D. is listed as Dora D. Duck. Do you have any idea what Dora D.'s maiden name is? They were living in Lapile Township, Union, Arkansas in 1910. Also, Manon's father is listed as Walter Duck married to an Alto Duck in the 1920 census and 1930 census living in El Dorado, AR. Their children were Emily Ann Duck (b. 1835), John Roberson Duck (b. 1839), William James Duck (1842-1862), Henry Bascom Duck (b. 1844), Mary Elizabeth Duck (b. 1847), Sallie A. Duck (b. 1851), Eugenia Duck (b. 1854) and Ann Eliza Duck (Duckworth) (b. 1868).   • Manuel Alexander Duck Family Manuel Alexander Duck married Dora D. Harris on 10 Jan 1873 in , Troup Co., GA (Bk F pg. 325). Dora D. (Harris) Duck, born 22 Jan 1856, daughter of William S. Harris and Catherine E. (Thigpen) Harris.

  • George Duck (the elder) Family from Pana, Illinois. George Duck (I) (b. August 1843 in England) and wife Rebecca (b. Feb. 1838 in England) immigrated to the US about 1892/1893. According to the 1900 US Census, Pana, IL, District 15, they had at least one son, William (b. June 1878 in England); George I's brother William (b. April 1837 in England) also appears in this census. Their son William (b. June 1878 in England) appears with his family in the 1920 Pana, IL Census: Wife Martha, age 41, born in Michigan, and sons, George, age 13, born in IL, William, 11, born in IL, and John, 8, born in IL. Later, William's son George, appears in the 1930 census in Pana, IL with his family: Marie, wife, age 24, born in IL. — Researcher for this branch is Beth Ann Duck Miller.

  • Louisiana Ducks
  • John Franklin Duck (b. ca. 1862, in Louisiana) married Ida Jane Blackman Williams, and appeared in the 1910 census in Catahoula Parish. Probably the same as the John Franklin appearing with his mother, Lucy, in the 1870 census. Possibly the son of Jeremiah Duck (b. ca. 1820), who may be a son of Ephraim Duck. One of John Franklin's brothers is named Uriah Beasley. Beasley is the maiden name of Ephraim's wife, Lucy. The oldest of Jeremiah's sons is James, there also is a Hiram Chandler, a Charles and an Albert, as well as a sister, Nancy. The 1860 census (pre-John Franklin) finds Jeremiah, 40, and Lucy, 37, with James, Albert, Chandler, Nancy and Charles.   • James L. Duck who was a photographer in Sebewaing, Huron County, and Caro, Tuscola County, MI, in the 1870's and 1880's. He is not in any census for Tuscola County. Our county was 150 in 2000 and we are trying to compile brief histories of our early residents. James L. Duck was one of the first photographers here. James Duck was born 19 Feb. 1802 in South Carolina and died 23 Jan. 1873 in Amite Co., Mississippi. He married Mary Peoples on 4 Oct. 1825 in Liberty, Amite Co., Mississippi. She was born 2 Jun. 1801 in South Carolina and died 26 Sept. 1877 in Amite Co., Mississippi.

Jonathon's father is thought to be John Duck from Anson Co., NC. This is the Charles R. Duck family line and a few of his children moved to Texas.   • Irma and Wayne Duck from the Ironton, Ohio area. Irma Duck was raised in the Ironton, Ohio area and her father was killed in an accident with a train sometime in the 1900 to 1912 time frame. Soon after her father's death, her mother passed away and Irma and Wayne were adopted by two different families. Wayne Duck lived and died in Canton. Irma Duck was born Oct. 27, 1897 and died in 1979, in Summit County, Ohio. She married George Spikerman. Irma's descendants are trying to find anything on Irma's ancestors but the adoption is making it harder. If you have any information on this branch, please let us know. — Researcher is Tim McCrady.

  • James H. Duck Family: James was born between 1819 - 1820, and died February 20, 1886 in Athlone, Ireland. He was married to Mary McLean in 1838. Mary McLean was born between 1822 - 1823 and died May 28, 1888 in Athlone, Ireland. Both are buried in the Cornamagh Cemetery, Athlone, Ireland. Two of their children remained in Ireland: Bridget, who was born about 1841 in Athlone Ireland, married Edmund Turner and died July 08, 1930 in Athlone. Margaret was born July 02, 1850 in Irishtown, Athlone, Ireland, traveled the world, but died February 17, 1934 in Mullingar, County Westmeath, Ireland. Two of James and Mary's sons came to the United States and settled in Toledo, Ohio. Martin Duck was born December 02, 1839 in Athlone, Ireland and died June 05, 1918 in Toledo, Lucas County, OH. John Duck was born June 01, 1846 in Irishtown, Athlone, Ireland, and died August 26, 1885 in Toledo, Lucas County, OH. James Powell ... plantation given to said Isaac George by the will of his father, John George, on Castell Creek in the upper parish. Wit: Samuel Luck, Milihesader Ducke and Mary Brashun.   • George Duck (the elder) Family from Pana, Illinois. George Duck (I) (b. August 1843 in England) and wife Rebecca (b. Feb. 1838 in England) immigrated to the US about 1892/1893. According to the 1900 US Census, Pana, IL, District 15, they had at least one son, William (b. June 1878 in England); George I's brother William (b. April 1837 in England) also appears in this census. Their son William (b. June 1878 in England) appears with his family in the 1920 Pana, IL Census: Wife Martha, age 41, born in Michigan, and sons, George, age 13, born in IL, William, 11, born in IL, and John, 8, born in IL. Later, William's son George, appears in the 1930 census in Pana, IL with his family: Marie, wife, age 24, born in IL. — Researcher for this branch is Beth Ann Duck Miller.

    The family were hand-lace makers in Nottingham who were encouraged to relocate to Calais, France, ca. 1839, due to machines taking over the industry in England. They were then forced back to England, as many were in 1848, where they later that year gained assisted passage to Port Jackson, New South Wales, Australia, as farmers. They had a large family, with children born in Nottingham England, Calais, France and in New South Wales Australia. As most were males the branches of this family in Australia are many and widespread.

  • Joseph Smith and Elizabeth Duck Family: Joseph Smith and Elizabeth Duck married at Kirby Knowle, N. Yorks. England, 5 February 1782. At the time of marriage Joseph was living at Kirby Knowle and Elizabeth was living at Kilvington. The researcher for this branch has been told by all the older generation in their 80's and 90's now that the Duck family came from Osmotherley. At about the same time as this marriage there was, at Kirby Knowle, the baptisms of five children between 177- and 1788 to a William Hall of Kirby knowle and his wife Ellen, 2nd daughter of Robert Smith of Crake bank, Thornton le Street by Winifred his wife, 2nd daughter of George Duck of Osmotherley.   • James H. Duck Family: James was born between 1819 - 1820, and died February 20, 1886 in Athlone, Ireland. He was married to Mary McLean in 1838. Mary McLean was born between 1822 - 1823 and died May 28, 1888 in Athlone, Ireland. Both are buried in the Cornamagh Cemetery, Athlone, Ireland. Two of their children remained in Ireland: Bridget, who was born about 1841 in Athlone Ireland, married Edmund Turner and died July 08, 1930 in Athlone. Margaret was born July 02, 1850 in Irishtown, Athlone, Ireland, traveled the world, but died February 17, 1934 in Mullingar, County Westmeath, Ireland. Two of James and Mary's sons came to the United States and settled in Toledo, Ohio. Martin Duck was born December 02, 1839 in Athlone, Ireland and died June 05, 1918 in Toledo, Lucas County, OH. John Duck was born June 01, 1846 in Irishtown, Athlone, Ireland, and died August 26, 1885 in Toledo, Lucas County, OH.
