Mrs. Wilda Jane Smith, 92, Dies
Sunday; Funeral Set for Tuesday
Funeral Services for Mrs. Wilda Jane Smith, 92, of Grand Junction will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Martin's Chapel.
Mrs. Smith died Sunday at 11:35 a.m. after an illness of several years.
Mrs. Smith was born March 19, 1866, in Green County, Kentucky, the daughter of William and Amy Goodin.
She spend her childhood in Elkhorn, Kentucky, and on Dec. 27, 1883, was married to Joseph A. Smith.
Mr. Smith, a farmer, died June 21, 1921 in Two Buttes, Colo.
The Smiths moved to Lincoln, Illinois in 1897, then went to Alva, Oklahoma in 1908. In 1912 they moved to Two Buttes, Colorado and then Mrs. Smith moved to Grand Junction in 1952.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughters Mrs. J.T. Judd, Eugene, Mo., Mrs. G.E. Duck, Grand Junction, and Mrs. A.S. Lacy, Peoria, Illinois; sons Will Smith, Yampa, Colorado, J.D. Smith, Parma, Idaho, and M.C. Smith, Columbia, Mo. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Rev. Don Lawrence of Clifton will officiate at the services tomorrow. Interment will be in Orchard Mesa Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilda Jane Smith
Mrs. Wilda Jane Smith, 92, died at 11:35 a.m. Sunday at her home east of Clifton, following an illness of several years.
A resident of Mesa County for seven years, Mrs. Smith came here from Two Buttes, Colo., where she had lived for 40 years. She was the widow of Joseph A. Smith, a farmer, who died there on June 21, 1921. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Mrs. Smith was born Wilda Jane Goodin, on March 19, 1866, in Green County, Ky. She spent her childhood at Elkhorn, Ky., and was married there on Dec. 27, 1883. The family also lived in Lincoln, Ill., and Alva, Okla., before moving to Colorado in 1912.
Surviving are four sons, Will Smith of Yampa, Colo., J.D. Smith of Parma, Ida., and M.C. Smith of Columbia, Mo.; three daughters, Mrs. J.T. Judd of Eugene, Mo., Mrs. G.E. Duck of Grand Junction, and Mrs. A.S. Lacy of Peoria, Ill.; 22 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Martin's chapel. The Rev. Don Lawrence of Clifton will officiate. Burial will be in Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Morrison, Otis Boyd, Rex Smith, Duane Hogue, Vernon Duck and John Duck.
