J.D. Goodin, 79, Passes Saturday
Funeral Services To be at 2 P.M. Tuesday

Joseph Daniel Goodin, 79, pioneer county resident died about 6 p.m. Saturday in the Ponca City hospital. He had been ill for the past month and in a serious condition a week.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Roy Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Jaroslav Mrazek, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiating.

Burial will be in the Newkirk cemetery.

Goodin moved to Newkirk in March of 1947 from near Ponca City.

He was born February 27, 1872 in Kentucky and came to Oklahoma in 1901. He lived near the Round Grove community and later moved closer to Ponca City.

For a long number of years he managed grain elevators in the area.

He was married on February 2, 1902 in Pawnee county.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Minnie Goodin, of the home; two daughters, Zella Goodin, Newkirk, and Hazel Goodin, Oklahoma City; two sisters, Mrs. Wilda J. Smith, and Mrs. Mary White, both of Kentucky.
